In a recent poll 4 out of 10 people say they are less likely to visit South America or the Caribbean due to the threat of Zika virus.
The Reuters/Ipsos survey of 1,595 adults in the US found that the more people learn about the mosquito-borne Zika virus the more people have to fear. Before the survey waqs issued only about 50 perfect of the American population were aware of the Zika virus now more than 60 perfect are aware of the dangerous mosquito-borne threat.
On participant had the following to say; “ I am actively trying to get pregnant with my husband, so I am a little concerned” in regards to planning to celebrate her wedding anniversary in Jamaica. Moreover another participant in the survey claims that they might have to cancel plans to visit Puerto Rico and Mexico due to fear of Zika virus.
Whether you plan on staying at home in the United States or traveling abroad you should always be careful of the areas you are hanging around in in relation to mosquito activity. You should avoid areas where unnecessary pools of water have collected and other areas known to attract mosquitoes.
