Wrexham soccer star James Gray was rushed to the hospital after being bitten by a killer false widow spider while asleep in his bed. After developing a fever from the bite Gray was admitted to the hospital and put on a drip and headed in to surgery to cut out the infection.
Gray reported to media sources on the issue that; “I couldn’t sleep and just felt horrible. My veins pop out at the best of times but they were really standing out and they looked red. The infection was going right up my arm. They had to slice the infection out of my arm and it went quite deep. It started to puss out before I went for surgery and you can imagine how that looked and felt. I’m getting it packed now to help it heal but I can’t believe I was bitten by a false widow spider.”
The 23 year old Gray who just joined Wrexham a year ago has been unable to train since being released from the hospital because of his wound. Gray stated; “I’ve been told to be careful if I sweat because that could cause problems if it got into the wound and I have to be extra careful that nothing touches it. They are trying to make it doesn’t heal from the outside because although the skin would grow over, it would always be weak and you’d be able to press the skin into my arm. It’s pretty mental when you think about it. But I have a lot of tattoos so maybe I’ll get a Spiderman one when I am fully healed just to remember it.”
Glad to hear Gray is on the mend and he has a sense of humor about the whole spider ordeal. If you have a spider ordeal of your own make sure to contact a pest control professional. If located in California contact the pest control experts at Innovative Pest Solutions!
